@genpk (Peter)

yes,

you are right. When I was in NZ I saw one. I've been back in Australia for 18 months and haven't seen any.

I guess that's why I'm keeping mine. I find people come up to me and ask what car it is and tell me how beautiful it is.

My best mate of many many years doesn't like modern cars. So I sent him some pics of my 75 and he says he can't wait to drive it.

I never had a squeak or a rattle from my car before Trikey swapped my black dashboard for an aubergine one. And since he did the job l've still never had a squeak or a rattle from my car.

I changed the most of the interior in mine. It started out as a facelift 75 with light oak interior and black leather seats.

It now has all the dark plastics from a ZT. A ZT gear knob, which is a big improvement over a 75 one, as it's
much shorter and gives a more positive gearchange. It is now fitted with a real walnut dash. Steering wheel from a contemporary model. Having been through light oak, and walnut wheel, I decided I didn't actually like the feel of wood steering wheels. I did have a ZT wheel for a while, but then came across the contemporary wheel. Nicest feel of the lot IMO. I love the look of the ZT seats but I don't think they would actually be comfortable for me as they look quite narrow between the bolsters. I also think it could make getting in and out more difficult for me as I have a back issue.

Here's a related question. Is the back seat in a ZT the same as in a ZT-T.
Somehow I doubt it but if they aren't the same can the rear seat covers be swapped?
The reason I ask is that I have a wrecked ZT with a nice red and black Monaco interior that is in perfect condition, and I have bought a ZT-T with a boring grey and black interior that I would like to swap over. The front seats will be no problem but I'm not sure about the rears

The rear seats are different I’m afraid.

Those pics are great, except they still have Rover seats, but I love those Autumn leaves. .

How rare are contemporaries?

My current plan is

Door Trim
Seats
Ceiling
Console Trim

So I will be trying to source ZT/Contemporary power seats. This is where I'll need some of you guys to help.

Upholsterer for the door trim, console and roof.

I'm thinking whether there will be issues that if I swap the seats out they may create a problem with Australian design rules.

Also need to repair my IPK lines, it is now unreadable.

I've found a guy in Germany that does them unless you guys have a suggestion.

Rats! I would really like to punch up the interior a bit so I may just take them both to an upholsterer and have them move the red Monaco inserts to the Tourer rear seats.
I think these would look great in a midnight blue car.

@Rich,

I love those seats, did they ever have a dark blue for my Royal Blue.

@Suzublu,

sorry I forgot to reply to your earlier pic. They look great, are they power seats?

They did a blue version

WSJ – Monaco Black with Blue ‘Kidneys’

Or you could also get …

Axis Blue
