Used to eat Basmati rice until my other half introduced me to Jasmine rice, its the primary rice in the far east, much softer and stickier than Basmati. Eating Basmati now its like gravel compared to Jasmine.

Weather is changing here, clouded over, cooler, looks like rain, in fact rain is forecast for later.

Rain started sooner than forecast, pis... raining heavily for a while, least that's me off garden watering duties. Can concentrate on me Thai curry . . . . bubbling away nicely, rice cooker on as well.

Also made another banana cake, Ging is heading off to see friends down in Windermere tomorrow (somebody's birthday) and wanted one to take with her. She's always boasting about my cooking abilities to her friends.

"Good for the garden" rain now, steady and not heavy. Just waiting for Ging to get home. Curry is a wee bit hotter than intended but not fiery, I made a curry once when Ging's friends were coming, one I'd seen on Rick Stein. Something went awry with it, he'd used larger (milder) chillies but without thinking of the consequences I used the evil little bird's eye ones, could have stripped paint with it, they loved it

LOL I love the smell & taste of chilli's but my plumbing complains very badly for a day or two afterwards. I bought some chilli seeds last year to grow this season called 'Big Jim' They were the least hot chilli's you can grow & not one single seed germinated out of the whole packet
I've got some more chilli seeds to try for next year called 'Habanada' with zero heat.

Those wee bird's eye chillies grow everywhere in the Philippines, if you are cooking just pop out into the garden and pick a few. Only thing I can do that with is bay leaves.

Ging used to eat chillies raw, first time I was over there she persuaded me to try one . . . . JEEZ To try to comfort me her father said it was normal to eat them raw and started chewing one himself. In less than a minute tears started rolling down his cheeks

Morning all, Kev is cooking. Breakfast before we head off to the show, can’t beat a full English to start the day off.

Cool

Morning everyone.

We have some of that Cornish rain falling. But it is still very humid, currently 21 degrees.
