Default Central locking switch?

Hi all, any pointers... or wiring diagrams / sketches! I had my central locking switch connected to a passing contact switch on the dash. It worked for ages. I then disconnected it a few weeks ago to add new switches, and cannot get the central locking to work any longer when putting it all back together. I have a grey / pink feed, Haynes indicate a grey / green feed should also be present, but I cannot find it anywhere... I can't remember if I had it originally or not!
I remember simply passing a current by touching two wires made the locks work. All fuses OK, no other issues, locking works from doors etc. Advice gratefully received, many thanks.....
