Fitted the SSC this weekend, with the handbrake now performing exactly like it should have in the first place.
I was a bit slow compared to most, but encountered lots of delights along the way: missing screws and a wet footwell being the two highlights. I'll be breaking out the seam sealer for the latter! |

Many thanks for supplying the modified compensator Arctic, took 90 minutes to fit and was a pretty easy job by following the excellent 'how-to' handbrake is now a vast improvement on what it was

Many thanks Steve, other than the carpet, job was easy.... I didn't even need to adjust the handbrake shoes! Handbrake now holds the car on a slope at 3-4 clicks rather than having to arm wrestle it into submission!

Compensator fitted
Just fitted Attic's improved handbrake compensator. Much better, thanks. When it comes to the carpet, brawn wins over brain!

Handbrake compensator
Thanks to Arctic Steve for supplying the handbrake compensator. Wow, what a difference it has made. Should sail through the MOT this time. Excellent pictorial instructions. Thanks again.

Hand brake compensator
Hi all. I've been away from the forum for a while (bringing up kids!). My ZT will go through the MOT soon and I'll expect the handbrake to be an issue due to the compensator stretching. Are these still available and is there a guide? Can one man do it? Cheers, Mark.

Yes the SSC is still available from me, even through rumours have been banned about that they are not, if you would like one drop me a PM, the link below shows how to fit it. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...&postcount=102 You could also fit the R53 from the Mini, I have also done an how to on that which is below also, the fitting is a little more time consuming and a bit harder to fit than the SCC. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=220121
