Just to update this thread, Andy didn't make it down on Saturday so we are looking at another date now if anyone down this way wants to book him. At the moment Sunday April 12th or Saturday April 25th are possibles.

Just wondering why it's being said we should replace master cylinder when clutch is done. I recently replaced clutch and slave, the peddle is now light as a feather compared to the old one. It would seem to me that the MC now has a much easier life and nice fresh fluid so I don't see why it should now fail. I except that new should be better but if we apply that logic then if we want reliability we would have to renew all moving parts on the car. Not arguing, just wondering. I have now tempted fate by posting this.

I see it so many times when partial clutch work is done.
The fact is that the master tends to wear out at nearly the same rate as the slave. So like in this case a few weeks/months down the line, the components which weren't renewed at the time come and bite you !! LUK's own warranty is void unless both Master and Slave are replaced as a pair. (their reason.......particles from an old master can contaminate the seals in the new slave) Hard to believe but that's their statement not mine
