Do this now!!!!
I have a facelift ZT - that 'apparently' has improved plenum drains. i saw a small trickle of water under the car earlier. thought thermostat housing but the Vee is bone dry.
I checked my plenums about 6 weeks ago and other thna the odd dead leaf they were dry. I checked them today to find 2 inches of water sitting in them. after the downpours we have had lately... GET THOSE PLENUMS CHECKED AND RODDED ASAP GUYS!!!!! |

Good Advice
Did mine again a couple of days ago. Much easier this time round after doing the mod last time. Removed the grommet and could see daylight straight down the hole

I helped a member out with his car on Saturday, the plenum was cleared at the same time.
They hold a fair amount of water don't they ?

Plenum Drains

Not a fairy story and I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination just logical. This is the one frequently mentioned as obsolete. Are you not talking about the one under the servo. Have never seen anyone suggest water does not go down that one though the majority of the water goes down the one under the ECU and is the only one required, IF CLEAR !

I had a look at the plenum drains on the 75 i've just aquired as an engine donor for my poorly connie. Gave them a good rodding from below whilst it was on my lift and about 4 gallons of water came out!!!
I noticed the rear footwells are also soaking on this car, will that be due to the overflowing plenums dumping water under the carpets and running to the rear? really glad it's only a parts donor car, i'd be gutted if my connie was in that state!! |
