Got one in every room of the house except the kitchen, three in the hall/stairway etc - costs me a fortune in batteries - must see about mains wiring one day!

have you been cooking BBM ??
 seriously we have just had fire safety training at work, and the office was saying that deaths from house fires are totally unneccesary, if you cant afford detectors or even batteries the local fire service will fit and check them for free.
