FBH dosing pump replacement
Hope someone can assist, dosing pump basically split apart with rust (and a bit of assistance from someone doing work under the car 😡 leaving pump swinging on a rusted mounting and both hose pipes loose. Tied everything up, disconnected cable, tried to stem diesel loss, ordered replacement pump - and thanks to The Royal Mail taking weeks to deliver - and me not taking any pictures I can’t remember which pipe went which side! Looking from the back to front the cable is plugged into the left hand side - i.e. in bound. Now I’ve put the pipes back on and now I’m thinking I’ve put them on the wrong way (duh!) on the side where the electrical connector goes I’ve plugged in a pipe that had a green/yellow coloured band. I should have checked before wire tie everything together, but the light was going and needed to get finished. I’ve tested the FBH, the dosing pump clicks but the FBH won’t ignite - which would be case if I’ve put the pipes on wrong way. Anyone tell me, or should I just go and change them over?

Why not just disconnect the pipi at the FBH and check that when the pump clicks you have fuel coming out of the pipe?

Looking from rear to front, the end with the electrical connector should be on the left hand side.
Since some fuel has leaked back out when you disconnected, you will need to fill the line to the fbh again, either by multiple retries or other means. I disconnect the fuel line to the fbh, put the open end in a jar. Then connect a separate 12v supply to the pump, that I can make/break the circuit repeatedly to operate the pump. When fuel enters the jar, the line is primed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can always prime the pump from the top end save getting at the pump under the car , remove the 6 pin plug and tap into pin 6 which is the dosing pump, tap the other end on the battery repeatedly to simulate the pulse of the pump and wait for fuel to come out of the fuel pipe
