Dark blue rover 75 broke down on M25
on a journey from stoke to folkestone,i only came accross one 75 and that was on the back of trailer on the way to the nearest garage, could'nt believe that was the only 75 or ZT in both directions on friday, are they becoming that rare,it certainly makes me wonder.

I did a round trip, Teesside to Surrey Al, M25, M3, didn't see a single 75.
Teesside to Norfolk return, plenty of 75's, especially Norfolk, saw 20 or so. I guess it's just now you see 'em, now you don't...but they are out there. |

Broke Down On M25 75 2.0 CDTI Tour
Hi People,
If you were on the M25 around 3 pm Thursday 1st June you would have seen me broke down in the middle of a live lane right under the flight path at Heathrow with a blown alternator! Had to call the Police then the RAC, two traffic enforcer 4 x 4's turned up and blocked all lanes then pushed me to the hard shoulder..one of the enforcers told me to put full lock, told her are sure full lock it will be harder to push.. The RAC took some time to show up due to heavy traffic I guess, the guy confirmed the alternator had no output..and towed me to the M 40, at 8 pm another van towed me to Warwick and at 10-30 pm another from Warwick to Hull..got home at 2 pm Friday.. With the good info from this forum I fitted a new alternator from under the car, a bit of a fiddle but, got there in the end with a few cuts and bruises, changed both belts at the same time. After the fix left next morning to move my daughter from Bristol Uni..One thing I noticed: Even with the auxiliary belt tensioner wound right off had to use the crank pulley to wind the belt on. Car did 527 miles and never missed a beat.. |
