KRC-391 replacement advice
Hi,
I have the KRC-391 kenwood cassette radio, with a CD changer located in the boot. The CD changer is jammed and i dont really want to use it anyway. I would like to replace the kenwood cassette head unit with a cd player, radio and aux out head unit- so i can plug my ipod in. would this package be what i am after? https://www.amazon.co.uk/T1-Audio-T1.../dp/B0041WRCBI its seems to tick all the boxes. however i am not sure if it would work with the steering wheels controls on my MG ZT? i am happy to unplug the cd changer and either leave it in the boot or remove it entirely. any help or advice gratefully received! cheers joe |

If you stick with a suitable Kenwood unit that has infra-red steering wheel controls, it will be a straight swap.
If you go for the JVC unit, you don't need the wiring adapter or facia adapter, but you would need an adapter lead and patch lead and some rewiring for the steering wheel controls. |

I think this one would do the trick as according to the spec sheet it has a molex to ISO lead.

I have a Kenwood KDC BT 30 for sale on this thread:-
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=171032 Also I have the facia plate adaptor. The unit is bluetooth so it doubles as a hands free phone, you can dial your phone book from the head unit. I'll let the head unit & facia go delivered for £50. Let me know if you're interested. |

Thanks to coolasacucumber for sorting me out with the kenwood head unit he had for sale.
met him on saturday, thoroughly nice bloke! just a shame that 2 mins after we met the heavens opened and walking back to my car i got soaked to the skin. have never been so wet in all my life. head unit replacement was easy peasy and am very happy with it indeed. many thanks coolasacucumber!! |
