I remember several years ago when the some cars came with these special paint jobs, like the TVR.
A friend of mine who had a 3L Capri wanted to have his car sprayed in this new type of paint.
He sourced it eventually from America and cost him a lot of money, but the finished result was simply amazing.
Going from dark blue at the rear to light pink at the front but that depended on what sort of light you were in because at times it looked burgundy and purple.

My Rover is just CDX all over but I want a metallic blue top half or even black as I like both just haven't decided yet as to which one.

The other thing I like is white walled tyres but I'm odd.........

I would like tyres with a thin whitewall as well but I have no idea where to get them from - can the whitewalls be applied retrospectively?

I wanted to go to so many shows last year but ended up only attending one because I just wasn't well enough to go, that upset me no end.

I'm a gregarious and outgoing person and enjoy nothing better than looking at cars, all types, all colours and meeting the owners.

There is no better way to spend a Saturday or Sunday, plus the all important food and for me a nice cup of tea, because you just can't beat it!

I've just done some searching and they didn't make a whitewall tyres for our vehicles but it may be possible to get them with whitewalls just the cost is very expensive.

Another option is the paint designed for doing this except I have not used this myself.

for information about the operation of DRL's i have worked with an MOT technician and the halos that some members have bought off of me and that some have self fitted would pass an MOT if they are wired in parallel with the side light bulbs.

In the last pair i have sold i have added an isolation for the halo's if the owner needs to deactivate them for any reason.

i am now looking at dimming relays so that the units can be wired with 3 modes

Full true DRL : the halos come on with ignition and dim 50% with dipped beam activation.

Halo : The halos come on with side lights and dim 50% with dipped beam activation

standard unit : the halos are isolated and do not operate (manual switch)

on all 3 the relays and switches are internal to the headlamp unit.
on the Full true DRL mode there is a flying switched power lead to connect to the switched live of the car.
the remaining 2 modes are completely plug and play.

My point of view as to thier use is simple, it is your car, as long as it is legal then you should do as you wish, and without scorn or insult from other users.

Roger, I'm sorry you've had such a rough time over what is, in essence, YOUR car and yours to do with as you see fit. I have been considering DRLs myself and I won't let anyone's opinion influence me in any way. It's my car!
My very best to you, You have a beautiful car and I pray you continue to enjoy it. I think you have friends on here (including myself!) who will hopefully outnumber the naysayers.
On my Mk.1 the problem is where to put them but there is a black Mk.1 in Preston with strip DRLs on the vanes where the blocked intakes are on each side of the bumper and they look good so next time the bumper comes off...

What brand of aftermarket DRLs are people fitting? Some of the obviously cheap makes do look dim / fall off / stop working and generally look **** IMHO however the better quality ones are definitely a decent bit of kit.

Currently you can get them for £186.60 from Amazon although they do say they don't fit but with a bit of adjusting I reckon they would.

available now if you supply the lights... i just cant afford to stockpile them (its a hobby you know..)

4 rings 160.00 fitted and a little lens polish if needed.
178 with 2 full drl relays as well.

if you can get your bumper off easy i may be convinced to put them in..

I attended 55 meets last year, yes I know I have an obsession. Most of those meets were with The Flying Banana. You either love her or hate her. She has DRL's amongst other mods.
Redfive is also a wee bit different but is very much 'wanted' by various members.

Go to a meet, get out and introduce yourself. You'll be part of the 'family' in no time. Look at other mods done to cars, get ideas. Talk about your Pride n Joy, and the car.
