Good to read Windrush and Gatekeeper doing well. Seems a long time ago I had my op (umbilical hernia - but not as big as Gatekeepers - I had had mine for years - just a lump in my belly button - but one day helping my sun lift a ton bag of straw (we forgot it had rained a lot) as I lifted I felt the thing "un-zip" and a very large bulge appeared to the left of my belly button.

NHS were great and after manipulation and support - the op was a few weeks later and once fully recovered - I have never looked back.

So take things steady - but do not "vegetate". As already said - that is a very bad idea indeed.
Thank you Clive, good morning sir! Yes it doesn't take much to do it. Yours was a bale of straw and you had yours repaired after years, by the looks of it. Mine happened in 2011 after the house burnt down in South Africa. I lifted some burglar bars off a window ledge and onto my tummy instead of dropping them to the ground. Over the years it grew bigger inside - the size of a ball. If you look at the photo, the bars that caused the damage, are at the bottom of the chimney to the left. Your right about keeping active and feeling better, thank you for your good wishes. Have a great day!

I'd suggest alive unless you want to carry them!
