R75 Hi-Line Harness
Hey guys, I`m having some issues understanding the audio harness for ours cars. Factory equipped with hi-line satnav + HK sound system. I removed the speakers and sat nav components and replaced with a touchscreen Android unit. The adaptors from the box are not long enough to reach the boot lid and cannot source a longer one here. The hi-line harness is standalone? I mean it has a plug to the car's main harness and I simply unplug it and remove it?

Both the highline & HK harness are separate from the cars main loom.

Yeah but isn't there a plug to connect them? For power and canbus?

The audio loom is connected to the main car loom in a 17 pin connector in the centre console, in the area behind the head unit or air-con control unit.

And is it possible to connect my Android head unit to that remaining empty plug from which I remove the hi-line loom? Without having issues with steering wheel controls and all those canbus functions?

If your Android unit has ISO connectors, a BMW to ISO adapter lead will connect it. Not all adapter leads carry the K-Bus or the two steering wheel control cables, so you may need to add them if needed.

I disconnected the hi-line wiring loom from the plug behind the climate panel and used the android adapter to plug into the car's main harness but no power is comming through. What am I doing wrong? I took pictures of the android adapter

You may need to trace the power cables through from the car loom connector. Ignition feed is Light Green/White, battery feed is Purple/Pink.
