Default MOT pass

Well my CDT Classic failed it's test on stupid things and I mean really stupid things:-

Quote:
Reason(s) for failure
Offside Side repeater incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f)
Nearside Front Direction indicator incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f)
Now I didn't think that they were to pale but the tester did it seems so two new bulbs and it's a pass. It also seems that the tester didn't notice that the mileage and instruments are in KMH not MPH and so the mileage has taken a huge jump from the last test as Andy set it all up in kilometers when he instlled the new instrument pack for me. In fact we have only done a bit over 6,000 miles since we got the car and not the 61,734 that the test certificate suggests .

The one advisory has me slightly concerned:-

Quote:
Advisory notice item(s)
Offside Play in steering rack inner joint(s) ()
Oh well it's got a new ticket on her.

My one had the same for the steering rack inner arm.

Not too bad of a job to do, but if its not been done before there is a little spot well on most that needs to be broke to take the inner arm off. Then its just screw the new one on.

Another year to go now before you need to check on the colour of those Amber bulbs!
Well done on the Pass!

They do tend to fail cars on some pathetic items, mine passed a couple of months ago after initially failing for 1 of the number plate bulbs out and insufficient water on windsrceen wash in other words water not going far enough up screen, once done got ticket with advisory for waxoyl couple other minor things.

The very annoying part is that in my tool box are Lucas 581 bulbs but the nephew was getting the test renewed as I am out of the country. Last time I checked they didn't look pale either. had this trouble with TBG last time I got her mot's bought brand new bulbs but they were not good enough for the tester so had to buy more Lucas ones this time.

Oh it never moved from the MOT bay as the tester supplied and fitted the two bulbs. Seems the N/S side repeater and one of the front indicators was not Orange enough for him. Not my usual MOT place as the car is at the nephews at the moment.
