Default cdt oil cooler... are they a common problem.

hi guys , anyone on here had the oil cooler fail ? its dumping small amounts of oil in the header tank . not using any water , or very little oil , no over heating problems, runs sweet . been told its poss the oil cooler ... is it a easy part to fix , as i could do without the car off the road for a long period. many thanks.

no its not a common problem on our cars but coolers will play up on any vehicle if your gonna do it yourself thoroughly flush the system after its changed and top up with o.a.t available cheap from vauxhall

Do you mean vauxhall main dealers have o.a.t cheap?

Is your motor an auto or manual as the auto has an oil cooler in the cooling system.

Hi 1gp,
Two days after i brought my car mine went (same problems as yours) the dealer i got it from payed for it to be done luckily.

Hi 1gp,
Mine had done 120,000 & yes it cured it.I had it done at garage but i dont think its much of a job as its only bolted to oil filter housing,I do know the mechanic done it from under car.But make sure you flush cooling system out as i done mine 3 times before all the oil was out of it.

cheers mate for that.. mine done around the same miles. now just got to find one, couldnt see the part on rimmers site.
