Default 2.5 V6 Starting Splutter

I've noticed in recent weeks that my 75 splutters momentarily before starting, rather than starting instantly every time. Once it's running it's fine and there are no other unusual symptoms whilst driving, I'm just a little worried that it's trying to tell me something and that one of these mornings it might refuse to start at all if I continue to ignore it!

I don't think it'll be related but there was an overheating incident in traffic on the M1 about a month back where the box of tricks that controls the cooling fan packed up. As I was able to stop the car fairly quickly and have it recovered I don't think any damage was done and there were/are none of the classic HGF signs. We had the oil changed at the same time just to show anything up.

Any ideas? Being an 03 and as I only had a fairly basic oil service last year it's about due the dreaded 6 year service when I've saved up enough...

Fuel Filter starting to unscrew ???

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/index.php?thepage=howto

Left column, 2nd from bottom. Petrol fuel system failure.

May not be the problem, but then again probably will be in the future if orange clip from X Part dealer not fitted. Suggest get clip before you look and fit anyway.

Thanks. Curiously, since filling the tank with new fuel yesterday it's been absolutely fine.
