Smile Rover 75 Fuel Guage

The fuel gauge on my rover 75 1.8t 2004 doesn’t drop below 25% or past 75%. The garage replaced fuel pump and sender unit but still no change. Does anyone have any suggestions please.

There are two floats or sensors which provide an average indication of level to the fuel gauge, one on the pump and one on the filter. Any recent work on the filter? Presuming that the garage correctly re-seated the pump the next logical step would be to check the filter, but hopefully T-Cut will be along shortly to tell you (or the garage) how to check which one is mal-functioning by measuring the resistance or using the onboard obd test. You can always use the search toolbar in his absence.

Regards
