If anyone else would like a badge of the facelift design please post on here so i can assess the viability
Hi Robert,

Please count me in for at least one facelift badge or perhaps two depending on the final price.

Regards,

Dave

Mel - name added thanks

Steve - sorry for any confusion the badge in post 6 is a facelift grille badge which did retail at about £25 last time i bought one but i only put that picture there to show the design

The actual badge i am getting made will be the octagonal one with the facelift design as in post 1 and post 23 above, hope that clarifies it for you

I have the Mk1 type and from early days of the project I had a concern about the fit. I think I raised it when the first discussions were going. This relates to the curvature of the plinth on the bumper. The rear face of the badge itself is flat/planar, so there is a small mismatch in the fit in the socket. You either get a gap at the top, at the bottom or both. Has anyone overcome this by flattening off the plinth socket? Is it possible to have the rear face curved to match the plinth? If so. I'll certainly be interested in the new Mk2 style. Maybe the rear face of the badge could be ground back slightly? I may look at that since the moulds or whatever had to be made will now be fixed.

Hi TC, you are correct but it was not a massive issue for me as i used adhesive on the top and bottom of the badge to bring it level inside the recess and it looks fine to me.

I suppose it would be possible to flatten the plinth socket if you wanted to as it woudnt be seen once the badge is fitted, but personally i dont think it is necessary

The new badge will be as the originals and flat.

Do you want me to add your name to the list as i should be getting the exact costings this week ?

No I'll stick with the Mk1 I have even though the new one looks very nice indeed. Many thanks.
