For a while I had a habit of discovering lesser known bands who never made it big after they had disappeared and all the grief that gave me trying to find their stuff. Anybody familiar with Twelfth Night, they have subsequently reformed but I love their earlier stuff. Pallas, started out about the same time as Marillion, great promise, good early stuff but EMI had signed and put money into Marillion and they didn't like what Pallas was doing. EMI signed Pallas and basically sat on them!

On a bit of a tangent. I was channel surfing one night and came across a programme with Rick Wakeman, just him and a piano telling stories of the early days with Yes, he had me in stitches. I've never seen it repeated and didn't catch the name. One was touring with Yes, he was tired of playing the songs in the same order every night so he decided to change things. Trouble is he was drunk or stoned, possibly both. He went to the bass player, look tonight we'll start with . . . . Then went to the guitarist, tonight we'll start with . . . but it was a different one to what he'd told the bass player. Did the same with the drummer etc. That night the announcer said "Ladies and gentlemen . . .Yes!" and this almighty cacophony as everybody hit the opening notes of a different song

Cheers Stu,
I had just found it and was going to post it but you beat me to it
I love real ale and lucky for me the Haywain Pub where I go for my lush dinners is in Camra ' the campaign for real ale' and really support all the local micro brewery's with lots of choice and a new guest Ale every week
Next time I'm there I shall give them the link for Goachers .

I should think he was very popular with the rest of the band when that happened
Got to have a bit humour in your music!

LOL! I'd love to have been there! Talking of relatively unknown music, I really like Caravan and have an album of theirs on vinyl... Good fun and some beautiful melodies too!

My pleasure Jeff! I'm a fan of real ale too! Cannot beat a drop or two of it especially when it's cold outside!
