1.8t keeps cutting out help

hi i have a 1.8 turbo that keeps cutting out it is in the garage at the minute and the mechanic has had it on the computer and it says everything is o.k but it runs for a while then just cuts out for no reason.
can anybody help me out please.

I take it the car will idle but when you put your foot on the gas it will cut out?

Sounds like insipient Fuel Filter Syndrome. If it hasn't got the Fabled Orange Clip, it should have. Search for FFS and FOC if you've no idea what I'm on about.
