Default Screensaver help.

Hi All,
I've just aquired a new computer running XP pro. I like to run all my holiday and family photo's as a screensaver, my wife really enjoys it!!

It was/is my intention to use my TV as the monitor but I'm horrified to find that XPpro doesn't offer "My Pictures slideshow" as a screensaver option while XP does.
I'm no computer wizard but i could download "Picasa" and select the pic's as a screensaver from there but I don't want to do that.
Any suggestions/advice anyone?

I want to transfer some of the stuff from my old machine. Can i simply USB the two machines together rather than use an external drive or am I being naive ?

Many thanks

i have booted up several of my machines that has XP PRO on just now, each one has an option to run my pictures slideshow, in the screen saver choice box , may be you could add it on in the install windows features section

Can't help with the screensaver question - I use my PC's spare time/capacity for other things.

As for moving stuff from 1 PC to another, they can be linked, but it's a faff. Easier (and probably quicker) to use an external drive to copy stuff over.

Hi,
Many thanks for the replies. I'm amazed that "my pictures slideshow" wasn't in the menu, I bought it on ebay from a good seller who offers a good service. I'll send him an email and ask if he's any idea why. My neighbour bought one but he's away at the moment, so I wonder if he's got the same problem!

BBM, your not too far from me and i often drive out your way at weekends. If you (or anyone else) want to pm me I may be interested in a laptop. I want one that will handle my Canon software and all my picture files and do it quickly. I shoot in RAW so the files are pretty big.

Regards

Surely you can link the computers by lan and it would be easy to transfer files?

Just a thought.
