Wedgewood Blues
I would be very grateful if anyone can help me match the Wedgewood Blue 2 paint on my May 2003 75 connoisseur estate.
I have tried 6 paints from 4 sources, 4 purporting to be JBH, which is what my door plate says mine is. All 4 are too dark. One source then "lightened it a lot", which was better, and one "modified it", which was bluer but still dark; total 6. I have also heard that there may have been two versions of JBH. Has anyone else had any difficulty? Any comments would be gratefully received. Blackwell |

Not long after entering the world of Rover 75 ownership, I contacted reebs to see what details he could give me about my car.
Mine is also JBH but going by the info reebs supplied, my Wedgwood blue is the 'Longbridge' version, so yes, there is more than one version and maybe the records/details the outlets you have been to so far, are looking at an earlier version. Just a thought. |

paint
you wont do it. simple as that. i too have jbh wedgewood blue 2.tried numerous combinations and suppliers. you may get a little closer with the addition of white into the mix but unless your doing a whole panel and can wash in the surrounding areas you will see it big time. only solution for me was panel changeing same colour same year from a donor vehicle. should be about the same match given uv fades. this is the only answer apart from respray/flashover.but panel change is the cheaper and in my opinion better option. depends really on the cars condition.....

My previously owned 75 always looked different from some other Wedgewood's. I thought it was because it was so shiny!

Hi Ian,
Can you tell how much of the car you are painting and who has been mixing the paint for you? There are various ways of sorting this problam. Tom.

Thanks for your help. Most of front passenger door below trim. Mixed so far by Rimmers, Halfords, Kevin Ince (Bromsgrove), National Motor Supplies (Redditch). Still got one more (NMS different mix) to try. Regards, Ian |
