It has been for sale for a while, I noticed probably about a month ago on Ebay. Seems odd it has not gone already especially at this price.

In all honesty (I know nothing about these cars BTW) is it REALLY worth it's asking price?!
IMO it's not very nice to look at, god awful alloys and an underpowered V8 Not everyones cup of tea I know, but you could buy an BMW F01 M5 for c£30k and have hell of a lot more power on tap, as well as a 4 door saloon that's a VERY nice place to sit! OR spend a lot less and get a daft TVR and probably have hell of a lot more fun... Until it conks out |

I wouldn't buy a banana from those people.
We have had so many disgruntled owners come here to cure major faults soon after buying 75's form there. It seems they paint the tyres black and hope for the best. Clutches, Cooling fans, suspension electrical faults and basic servicing issues have been the main complaints. Calling themselves Rover specialists you would think they would at least clear the plenum drains and put fresh pollen filters in as part of the pre sale prep but no the list goes on ............. I see they changed their trading name recently What a surprise !

As others have already posted, been for sale for a long time from a Company that's reputation was so bad, they've had to change name.

I looked at the only Sunspot Yellow one produced a couple of years ago. Decided against it, but Steve Poultney bought it and ended up replacing the engine, now uprated, and gearbox. He had to get those from Steve Hylands in Canada.
If I remember correctly only 85 SVR's and 3 SVS's were produced before MG-Rover went bust. Not sure but I believe a garage in Sussex bought all the spare bodies and components from the administrators and we're going to continue building them. There was only one convertible body produced, that I believe is now in private hands. Waiting for parts to complete the build. NOW DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS BUT............... The SV series were based on a sports car produced by De Tomaso, before FORD bought them out. The front and rear lights are from a FIAT. Door handles are from a Austin Maxi/Allegro. Other parts were 'borrowed' from other cars.

Bit of risk to run an SV as there are no body or suspension parts available
Do a search on SV parts for sale? Virtually nothing appears. I nearly bought the ultra low miles Red one from the POL show 5 years ago. Decided against it. Only collectors need buy these and store them away for posterity and hope they appreciate in value.

I talked to the owner of one at a Prescott hill climb a few years ago and he was telling me you need to be persistent when you need parts. He had a good personal supply of parts but was concerned at the lack of any long term support.
Apparently his had been off the road for a few months until he had sourced a part for the suspension. |
