Anyone able to geuss (roughly) how long it takes to service an FBH?
Got about 5 hours free tonight between needing the car and wondering if I could get it done in that time. |

Some times the three fixing bolts, holding the FBH to the bracket can be seized. Put some Plusgas on as soon as possible.

FBH was only fitted a year or two back so should be fine.
I've printed out the guide from the first post (gotta get out of the habit of using my phone with oily hands), wish me luck! |

I have to say this thread has helped loads in diagnosing my newly purchased........ unfortunately faulty FBH. The pump works when connected to 12v, the fan and water pump whirrrrr away when the heater is activated by grounding pin 3 but it fails to fire. I've posted the PCB out to good old frenchmike so he can do his thing and hopefully it's repairable. I shall let you know how i get on once it returns from over seas =D

for all of us who was old 66232C (or 66232D in my case) the most common fault on the PCB is the SMD 1 ohm resistor.
Board looks like this: And this is the bad guy replaced by "standard" 1Ohm 0.25W resistor: Hope this will help anyone who has issues with FBH cycling on and off or other odd issues. Would be nice if someone could put all these FBH info together, PDF it and move to How-To section... |

Just one more question - is it DEFINITE answer that the older 66232C board doesn't have KBUS capability ? What is then 4 pin connector placed on the board used for ?

Hi milosnikolic,
my understanding is that the earlier units do not have the required chip to enable K-bus connectivity. Could the 4 pin plug on the P.C. board with the mental strap above it be for testing during the manufacturing process ? (Thanks for the earlier tip regarding the 1ohm resistor failure) Pete.
