polished a few more bits including the door shuts, and trying to figure the best way to remove polish residue from behind the door trim strips where it looks like it been polished with Autoglym over the years. Currently considering taking the trim strips off to clean behind them so have ordered some new clips.
Also trial fitted my memory seats. Bought a set of full leather seats, needing a little bit of bolster work like most, but couldn't make up my mind whether to keep my Alcantara and convert to memory or fit a full leather interior. I've put the leather in to see how I get on with it and may then get the bolster sorted. I didn't realise how much heavier the memory seats are compared to non-memory ones having carried it up the garden. |

Not the seat runner mate, its the seat belt height adjuster, the wire had snapped, caused by a tight spot on the B pillar trim.

Went under the car to do a little job and noticed the rear arm bush had failed in a big way.
Luckily I had a spare so swapped it over.

As part of my one item a weekend service of the 75 changed the fuel filter and let it tick over for 20 mins , fired up straight away. Bank holiday weekend oil and filter and it's done for anothert year. Has done 3 miles since I started 2 weeks ago and that was to fill up just incase things get silly in this situation.
Washed the ZT and then had a go at claying for the first time boot bonnet both wings and drivers side done finished with turtle wax jet black polish impressed raven black looks like a mirror now need to move the car to do the passenger side will give me something to do next weekend. Scott |

That Turtle Wax black polish is fantastic stuff. I used it on my black Freelander and it really brought the finish up. I used their black clay kit which comes with a clay bar, black tinted detailer spray and black tinted wax-Highly recommended!
I have just ordered some of their red tinted wax for my ZT and will report on the results.

Well Yesterday saw me finishing the rear brakes on the silver Saloon. that is now both sides had the calapers overhauled and painted red all guides perfectaly clean and smooth, the seals and dust rubbers all shiny and new new discs left the original shoes inside but replaced the hold down kit.
the discs and pads are now new look and feel the part. A job that would have taken a couple of hours when I was sixty now takes the best part of 10 hours and had to be done over two days. that just leves the silver saloons front end and the brakes all round on the spice tourer. All I want is a few warm dry days so I can catch up with the necessary. If we get the weather I should have no excuse. alan |

Clayed, waxed & detailed. Cleaned leather and hoovered interior. Replaced both bonnet struts from my spares "stock". Cleaned debris from scuttle panel & boot rain channels.

Started it up and moved it backwards and forwards to make sure the brakes aren’t sticking. The rear pads are about 70% worn on our 75 and the neighbours 75 needs a new coil spring but I have no tools at home other than a small snapon socket set so they will have to wait a while.

Drove the wife to work, came home removed the back seat, vacuumed more bits of glass out from under the seat, then refitted the D pillar trims washed the seat cushion and refitted.
I then took dog with me to check my storage unit was secure, then walked him until I couldn't walk any more, turned around walked back to car and went to pick wife up from work. No problem with social distancing here, If I encountered a dozen people in five miles, I would be surprised. After tea I repaired the playhouse shed roof and cut the grass. Sitting down with a nice cold glass of pop now Brian |
