Default Questions regarding Superchargers.

Good morning all I have a question for you all.
Hope that Les Finney sees this too, if you see this mate your input would be fantastic as its be done too your ZTT.

My dad and I have been talking and let's just say the idea of super charging a V8 is very appealing and we would like too give it a go, we've never done it before first time.

Before we jump the gun would like too get as much input and technical information as much as possible.

I know with turbo chargers it relies on exhaust gasses at high speed verse rotating the turbines forced induction.

Superchargers are powered mechanically by belt or chain-drive from the engine's crankshaft.

With super charging will I have too still buy supporting modifications too make it all work as if you were turbo charging?

Also is super charging easier too to do then turbo charging?

It depends entirely on the engine, its original spec and so on.

Some engines you can bolt a turbo onto with a custom ecu and boom, gone from a 1.8 n/a with 120 bhp to 250 bhp turbo fun. MX5 1.8 mk2 springs to mind.

IMO a turbo zt v8 is 100% more interesting than a supercharged one.

Look at the budget built modular engines on the ford Taurus sites and so on, when you can build a 500bhp turbo version of a 4.6 2v for sub £$5000 then honestly you have to wonder why you would pay twice that for a charger.

This is what were going too be doing the super charger on.
I'm going too have a good read of that link later on when I finish work.

Have too say the more I read about it and peoples input the more interesting it gets. Ideas is flooding in and I also found a turbo and super charger kits for the LS 400 as well.
