As I have said numerous times it's not to show her or anything like that it's my way or relaxing and the car gets longevity. Hopefully until the world stops selling petrol or I fall off my perch

Yea never add in your hours on these sorts of things it would scare you. But it's my way of relaxing The spares receipts can make a grown man cry but at least for this marque the prices are normally very good. Try doing the same for my MKIV Supra. The industry and Mr T really know how to charge for parts there

The satisfaction of getting something back to a good running state is the battle and relaxation method for me. Particularly when you know most would throw away or scrap. I have heard plenty of ex colleagues tell me they are busier in retirement which is always good. Cheers mate

The whole thread is for others to read and hopefully help someone in the future. Yea I have had 2 x Supra's, the current one for 9 years and the previous one for 6 years. Before that it was a Gen 4 Celica GT4 which I think we have discussed before. Great cars, The Sup sits alongside the Zed and again will stay in my ownership until Petrol is no more IMG_0040 by Jon Christie, on Flickr 20180218_193207 by Jon Christie, on Flickr I do smile when people on here mention parts prices.

Been really busy the last few weeks but managed to get the trailing arms mostly done
First the bushes were renewed. I passed these to a local engineering firm to press and they said they were a nightmare to get out using their 20 ton press. Glad I passed it them to do now IMG_20191103_183606 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191103_183613 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191103_183616 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191103_183736 by Jon Christie, on Flickr First things first was to prime the arms. I realised a bit if a mistake on my part from a previous set of photos. I attached the final photo of the rest of the suspension instead of the primed units, Doh Too late now Anyway the trailing arms primed with corroless primer IMG_20191109_192101 by Jon Christie, on Flickr and top coated with Corroless QDR IMG_20191117_162624 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191117_162650 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191117_163126 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191117_163151 by Jon Christie, on Flickr you will notice I have left the original fastenings in place. O do this for 2 x reasons:- 1. Protects the threaded holes 2. Gives me a reference for the replacements of which I have taken delivery of a full set. All new high tensile for the suspension loaded areas and stainless for the remainder. IMG_20191108_154858 by Jon Christie, on Flickr finally delivery from MAtt and Rimmers for some more parts (spring protectors and track rod ends) which needed priming and painting IMG_20191109_192109 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191109_192118 by Jon Christie, on Flickr IMG_20191117_163356 by Jon Christie, on Flickr The last thing to do with all the parts which have been painted is to spray the internal cavities and clean out all the threads. I also want to get the ARBS off my car so I can get them and the springs blasted and powder coated. Just a short update but hopefully back onto the car now

so moving along nicely and almost ready to start fitting all the new and refurbished parts on the rear.
Everything sprayed has now been protected internally with cavity wax. The car is now up on stands and the rear stripped out I had forgotten quite how rusty things had become.
Rear subframe, lower and upper arms and trailing arms removed IMG_20191207_164107 by Jon Christie, on Flickr The rear sub frame and arms IMG_20191208_153840 by Jon Christie, on Flickr And the new and refurbed going back on. Whhat a difference IMG_20191208_153749 by Jon Christie, on Flickr Old rear shocks removed IMG_20191208_105807 by Jon Christie, on Flickr And the new and refurbed ready to go on IMG_20191222_170605 by Jon Christie, on Flickr I also got the springs and rear ARB back from the powder coaters. Front ARB will have to go by its self as I had not taken it off the car Original before going away. These are the lowering springs qhich were on the ZT I broke a couple of years ago. IMG_20190826_191008 by Jon Christie, on Flickr And the nicely powder coated units after a good sandblast. I chose red. IMG_20191221_170033 by Jon Christie, on Flickr The rears with the isolators fitted ready to go on the car IMG_20191222_170639 by Jon Christie, on Flickr Finally the last few bits arrived that I needed after stripping off the original suspension:- Rear hub ( I replaced one when i did the brakes a couple of years ago.) Both rear ABS sensors. I went for OEM from MAtt (what a good price) New rear handbrake cables (Pagid) IMG_20191221_170154 by Jon Christie, on Flickr With all the parts ready to fit I have dropped the fuel tank and have a bit of remedial work to do on the underside of the car which I will underseal for longevity (photos to follow). Starting to feellike I am making progress on the rear.
