Default Engine mount?

My diesel saloon has just started giving the occasional slight thud if I take up drive sharply, or come off the gas pedal suddenly in 1st and 2nd. I'm making an educated guess that it's an engine mount.

Which one is the recommended rubber bush.

It's just as likely to be the bush at the rear of the lower arm, but,

as Big Russ is in your village, why not speak to him too. Regards.

Hi Mike.
I put one of these on my car this time last year and it as performed fine up to now.

So worth adding in my opinion, I will report back once again on it come spring after this winter when all rubber go hard because of the cold

I am 99.9% sure it's not suspension related.

The question I was really asking was, which mount to go for?

Not difficult to remove, to twist the rubber, if you can't see it has failed in situ.

I have the same thud on mine, accelerating and decelerating at low speeds.

Front suspension, including shocks and upper mounts all changed, brakes, including new slide pins. Still there.

I eventually stripped both upper engine mounts off and found the Hydromount to be foobarred. The lower on is fine but changing that made no difference either.

New hydromount in and the thud is still there.....

I suspect the output bearing on the diff, as there is lateral play on the driveshaft.

Could it be solenoids in Auto box ? when was the oil changed last.

Mike is your car an Auto ? or manual.

mine looked ok last year as they had been changed earlier in the year along with the arms by the previous owner, they are not what I would have fitted but will stay on until I feel they are going weak, then my Unipart ones will be added.
