missing Pipe/ tube
Doing a bit of work on my diesel Tourer engine. Under the inlet manifold there is 2 connections for pips/tube one is goung to the EGR, but I cannot see a tube that goes to the other connection. is this right or should there be a tube attached.
Have put a picture of said connections. Thanks for looking and any any advice you can give me.

There should be a vacuum pipe like the other one attached to that.
I bet your brakes aren’t as good as they should be.

you wont need to look far, its just beneath the one that is connected looking at your photo.
Personally, I would replace both of these hoses due to degradation / ageing. The one pipe goes to the EGR valve vacuum capsule facing the front. The other hose runs along the top of the bell housing, towards the underside of the battery box, and appears just in front of the Under Bonnet Fuel Pump (If fitted) This end pushes on to the vacuum plastic servo pipe from the vacuum pump on the side of the engine and runs along the firewall to the brake servo. 3mm bore vacuum hose is best replacement, I have replaced plenty using silicone hose with no ill-effects. Good luck. |

Hi Steve, Thank you for you kind offer. I have some Samco sport silicone 3mm vauum hose, so I will use that for now and we can have a look to see how it is doing at the next Nano in the new year. All the best to you and your family.

Still puzeled I went to sort the 3mm tubing and now find there is 3 connections not 2 as you can see in the photo below. So what tubbing goes onto the connection on the left. I've looked and cannot find any tubing that should go onto it.
Thank you for looking and those that have helped.

You seem to have a Freelander 1 turbo solenoid fitted to your car? why I don't know, you can see from the photo's below that our EGR solenoids only have two connections one in and one out. Rover 75 solenoid. note the square box. 1 Freelander 1 Turbo solenoid 3 connections no square box. 2 Here you can see the Freelander solenoid in situ. 3 I think you would be ok to fit a little bit of hose and block the end of it, or if you prefer to have the right solenoid again take a trip over to me I have a couple.
