Default SatNav Disc

Just got me a Conny SE Tourer
The radio/casset is a Hi Line with a small screen.
There is a SatNav disc holder in the boot.
There is no disc in it as I pushed the button and nothing came out.
Is there any way I can check to see if the HiLine unit is working for SatNav?
If it is then are there any uptodate disc's I can get?
Any info will be gratefully received

I'm a bit puzzled by this Al because the Hi Line screen is the largest of them all! Please have a look at this guide and confirm what you have.

Was the red LED on the disc drive iluminated? When you pushed the button could you hear the motors whirring?

Not without a CD.

The last official release by NavTeq was many years ago, possibly 2009. Discs are sold on e-bay claiming to be newer but I suspect that they're copies of an older release.

3) High Line satellite navigation is the one I have,
When I press eject button no lights show.
No lights on disc holder at all.

If no new discs are about does that mean I can't use the SatNav at all?

when you select the satnav on the head unit do you get a map? if so then there is a disk in.
Looking at the sat nav drive in the boot it should be showing a red light when it is on. There are still discs available.

Unfortunately that most likely means that it's not functioning. This can happen when the car's battery is disconnected before waiting for the sat. nav. drive/computer to shut down, or it may have suffered water damage.

But people do strange things. As you've just bought the car I would slide out the drive/computer and make sure that it's still plugged in!

You can't use the sat. nav. without a disc in the drive because that's where the maps are stored, but it doesn't have to be a "new" disc.

On the main menu when you select 'Navigation' what do you see on the monitor? Or is the word 'Navigation' blacked out?

No, you'll be able to use the satnav. If it takes you to a road that is now one way the wrong way, just drive past and the navigation system will find you a new route. It does it rather quickly actually

What does it mean if it's not on the menu?

In basic terms it means that the sat. nav. drive/computer is not working, confirmed by this:

It does not mean that there is no disc loaded. If that were the case, you would still see 'Navigation' in the main menu but when you click on it a box would appear saying that no disc is present.

Your next move should be to get hold of a DIN extraction tool (Laser Tools makes them) and slide out the drive/computer to check that Mr. Previous Owner hasn't unplugged it.

Keep us posted Al.
