Default lower spring isolator failer

Replacing offside upper suspension arm and it went like a dream. Every bolt came lose, no problems with captive nuts, too good too be true. Something had to wrong and it did.

One of the rubber retaining lugs on the bottom spring isolator sheered off. Part RKB100980. It appears these parts are unobtainium and to makes things even more awkward, my car is MK2 diesel saloon. Which means it has tourer rear springs to compensate for the lack of an anti-roll bar.

So my question is, can I safely refit the spring with one lug and if I can't, are the isolator rubbers interchangeable. Can I use the rubber off another model or will only one size fit?

looking at rimmers web site saloon and Tourer are the same. If you pm me tomorrow I will see if I have a spare. I can pop it in the post for a donation to the NSPCC

I would not fit the spring without the rubber, I would expect with one lug it would be ok. Not sure if there would be an issue when the spring is fully extended

Remember if you are fitting an Indian arm, you will need to trim 5mm from the diameter of the isolator, otherwise it will foul the radius on the edge of the cup

Discount Rover Spares came across aload.

I have managed to source an isolator by buying a whole V6 rear spring, it has the same isolator part number as my car. Mine was one of the last to be made, so I have no idea what springs they used.

The sticker with the details is worn away.

So my plan is to switch the isolator and store the spring.

The original springs for late V6 and diesel saloon tend to be green and white, as to the arms......you have eyes on them, but I've not seen the originals for some time, they tend to be either Chinese or Indian arms, the Indian arms having been commissioned by XPart, carrying an MGRover genuine hologram sticker.

DMGRS stock both types
