Default All Chrome Front Grills

Can somebody provide the background to these, please.

I presume it refers to the centre section, where most are a satin finish; but I have one which looks as though it used to be chrome.

Thanks

All rover 75 mk1 grills have a chrome outer edge, there was an upgrade offered to a fully chrome grill, l that meant the entire grill was chrome this included the centre section and all the "fingers". Beware of aftermarket copies that are a little smaller and the chrome soon tarnishes.

Yes, they are chrome all over.

Genuine ones are best if you can get one.

Be wary of the cheaper aftermarket ones because they tend to pit & don't fit as good as the original.

PS: beaten to it by Stocktake

Thanks for info., it looks like I might have a genuine chrome grille, albeit for a Mk 2.

I can't detect it being smaller, although I've only offered it up against others that I have. Also, not really pitted, just no longer fully chromed.
The date matrix on the back has not been filled in, but runs from year 05, to 10.

The badge is a Mk1, but looks like it has been changed.

I'll look at having it re-chromed, I think.

Mike

Very Nice, especially the wire grill one, touch of Bentley.

How did you make the last one please, in terms of the chrome finish.

Thanks

Mike

Thanks Mike, I prefer the mesh look myself Re the DIY chrome one, 4mm chrome strips for the slats, and chrome vinyl wrap for the centre section

Mk2 grilles (non-Premium) are all the same and have a chrome surround and centre bar with grey slats.
