Haven't driven to Spain since the late 1960's. We changed a back spring and the big ends! I seem to remember that six lane roundabouts were very interesting! Have a great time and drive safe.

Arrived safe and sound 3 weeks ago. Just topped up fuel to get a proper brim to brim measure. Over about 1600 miles doing all sorts of driving the car returned 44mpg. (2l diesel with cat bypass fitted and 160 re-map) No air-con in use on wy down this may not be the case when we return mid July
Only slight issue on the way down was on some of the long downhill sections as was getting brake judder when then brakes got hot. Suspect a slightly warped front disc which showed up more when hot, so maybe some new discs when back home. Car is now parked up the boot being slowly filled with Gin for the return trip. A few people suprised at a 19 year old car actually making the trip. One garage we stopped at several people were under the impression it was a Bentley, I had to explain that in fact it was a far more sort after Rover 75.

I take it this was our old girl you were driving

I’ve now moved away from 75,s and driving a superb Mercedes SL. It’s a 2004 and has done just over 8k miles since new.

I will miss the 75 experience though.

Yes Jim, the old girl indeed.
You'll be back with the 75's soon, once the novelty wears off

Default Another addition to my garage...

Hi 75´s:

I´m looking to make a new addition to my garage, It´s another tourer 2.5 Autobox from 2002, metallic grey/greystone interiors..., she needs a little love and tender care, let´s see if I can soften a little bit the actual owner...

Cheers...!!!!

Well we made it back OK. The car ran perfect with only one slightly worrying moment right at the top of the Pyreenees on some steep uphill switchbacks it seemed to go into some sort of limp mode, didn't see any engine light come on but the car just would not pull. Limped to the top and had to stop on the downhill section for roadworks, switched off the engine for 5 mins then we set off again, it was about 20mins later before I could find a level bit to put my foot down and all was well. Never missed a beat all the way back after that. Just a thought, could low transmission fluid have caused this?
The fluid was changed before the trip, maybe the level isn't correct and the uphill section caused an issue, it was also very hot day 35 +. Would a T4 check tell me what happened?

Back to the overcast sky and rain.

Nice to hear the old girl is still giving good service.
What’s the mileage on it now?
