Yeah - I was thinking the same. I might try chucking some Steel Seal in before I give up and move on.

You mean a compression test, right? Yes, that's probably worth a go.

When I got the car back last week I used the 'blow in the exp tank filler cap hole' method to get rid of any air, and there definitely was a bit of air in the system.

Actually, I'm not losing much, if any coolant, so I'm inclined just to ignore it and just accept that it runs the way it does. I might buy a couple of spare hoses though to keep in the boot!
