Default Air con noise

When switching on air con there is a noise coming from engine compartment. Its like a whirring sound, and changes with engine speed.

Air con is working fine, it is just noisy, is something on the way out do you think??

One or two things come to mind. The auxiliary belt tensioner is put under more load with the compressor running. This also applies to the crankshaft pulley, which eventually fatigues and separates. It could be early signs of one or the other. Another is noise from the compressor itself, but if the aircon has always been well looked after, that's less likely I'd say.

Hi,

There is a separate belt for the AirCon (small one);
At first ,have a check for worn and tension.

Possibly,replace the two

Noisy compressor.
Radiator fan MUST be running with AC on. (notorious)

Adding PAG oil cures 50% of noisy compressors if cooling fan hasn't been duff for too long.
