I have a full set of four virtually unused full winter tyres for sale. They have 7.8/7.8/7.6/7.6mm of tread.
I used Winter Tyres last year, in the OEM size 225 / 45 /18 XL. The car is excellent with Winter Tyres, I had far more control over my car, (stopping, going round corners, going up and down inclines) than 4x4's with normal tyres. The only problem is that while I had full control of the my car, 99% of other's did not. The worst offenders being all wheel drive vehicles who believed they could drive faster and stop quicker than anyone else (even though they had summer tyres) just because they had AWD! Anyway, rant over. In the end I just decided not to use the car in the dangerous conditions for fear of being hit by other drivers. This year the car is staying off the road in Winter and I am selling my winter tyres: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=99190 They are Wintrac Extreme, they are full Winter Tyres but very high performance and rated for higher speed driving than most over winter tyres. |

They are all seemingly oblivious to the fact that they can't stop or corner better than anyone else on the road. In fact given the weight of some of these things and the width of their tyres they may be worse. |
