![]() I don't know if this will be posted in the right place but I'm sure someone will move it PDQ if it isn't
![]() Today I turned on my trip computer to display the tank range and it had gone up amazingly from about 255 to 1000 miles, I have just rechecked it after driving on and off today and it is now down to 502. Does anyone have any idea why this may happen ? Is it a fluke that may not reappear ? Only having had the car a week, I'm not worried, but I really don't want it to go back under warranty to be sorted as I'm really enjoying it ! Answers on a postcard ! John

![]() After you reset Computer, the MPG and the range will be inaccurate for a short time, as it computes from distance travelled in Total at that time.
If you have a Diesel and the Performance Enhancing Boxes such as Rover Ron's Synergy these also give an over optimistic reading. Just use it as a Guide. I've often had 700MPG indicated after Reset and coasting down hill as an example, if only that was true. ![]() |

![]() Happens to mine every now and again.
Just pop a little more fuel into the tank and it should cure it. I find the 'wishful thinking' reading usually happens if I have been a bit quick in turning the ignition key for the start. |

![]() Ok David, cheers I'll try that.
One of my mates suggested that, he's had that problem in a vectra, so I'm wondering if its a sensor thing. Maybe I've been round a corner quickly or something ! ![]()

![]() Is there any other way to take a corner in a 190 ???
I think its more likely that the electrics on a 75/zt are not that quick and if you do something a bit quick they can get confused. Thats why the battery off reboot can work on so many occasions. |

![]() I'm a bit loathe to try the battery off approach ( I'm lazy and don't want to reset all the presets on the radio ! )
I'll try the fill it up in about half a tanks time ! ![]()
