Default "Shrek" - Biomorphic 1.8T

Inspired by Stu and his stunning red zed, I thought I would start my own blog/post with updates to "Shrek" (named by my other half )

I bought the car at the beginning of December, from forum trader Simon_rs, in a bit of an unorthodox manner, I PMed Simon and asked him would he deliver it to my work office, and if as advertised I would take it! It's was and I did!

I have to say the previous owners have done a great job, there are a few issues bit fingers crossed all sortable.

Today is the first day I have had the chance to get under and over the car properly.

Started at 9am in the lovely winter sun, I started by jacking up the car to change the lower engine mount, there is a small judder at times and I had hoped this would cure it, as it turned out there was nothing wrong with the old one, but I changed it for a new one anyway.

Next was the plenums, and I am pleased I did, there was a good 4" of water in there.

Next changed the oil and filter while on the axle stands, but again it didn't really need it, but it can't hurt.

I then changed the O rings on the expansion cap, just to be sure they were up to scratch.

I then turned to the headlights, they were very dipped, I suspect the self levellers are duff, but this requires some reading up, so for now, I have adjusted the outer screws to raise the beam a little (will re-visit when its dark)

I also changed the sidelight bulbs for LED ones.

After the above, I decided to tackle the engine bay which was very filthy.

I did notice a couple more jobs to do, the Xenons Headlight on the left shown above seems to have a leak as there is moisture on the inside.

I also noticed that the car must have had a spray job at the front as some point, as there is evidence of overspray.

So, a break for lunch, and then its bath time for Shrek.

Simon

I'm so much looking forward to seeing this car!

What interior has it got, a few pictures would be good, and is that sound deadening material on the bulkhead or just the image?

Nice car, well done. Check out my thread on xenons arms, it sounds like your ball joints are rusty and making the arms bend.

Default Shrek

Simon

Looks good mate, and can't wait to see it, and it is always nice to see one especially in that colour being looked after.

As you may or may not be aware, I picked up two doors yesterday and they were from your previous red ZT, and are in much better condition than the one's I had on, which had numerous dents on both the passenger front and rear door.

Also got to see the other Green one that Simon has in stock the ZTT Tourer

Hope to see you soon, and love the name "Shrek"

Stu

It is Paul, yes, material on the bulk head.

Interior shots below

Seats are quite good really, this is the only mark.

Thanks Stu, a bit bitter sweet to hear about the doors I assume this means my old car is done and dusted.

Paintwork on this is very very good

However, the sill trims are peeling, I am hoping Simon comes through with some replacements.

I'm so jealous. I really wish I could have scraped the funds together for this, or the ZT-T Simon has to be fair. Keep up the good work!

Simon

I have just ordered some door/floor clips, so if you need some then give me a shout, I had the same problem with the seat back, and found that if you get s small bolt and a couple of washers then you can fix it, Put the bolt and washer in from the back of the pocket, from the inside, then through the seat back, with another washer and bolt, or alternatively use a small plastic nut and bolt, something like these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-M4-Nylo...item1c36544a9b

also we have a great paint supplier in Durham, and he can match the paint, all you need is the paint code. he does 1/4 litre tin, or spray can for around £16
