There's always something that needs doing

It really is a lovely car you have, well worth the money and effort to get it tip top

Update:

Since the xpower 135 remap and MAF back in service, MPG brim test went 335 miles for 8.6 gallons = 39 mpg.

Not bad for short journeys with plenty of 2-3k torque enjoyment and giving it a good thrashing to clear the cat etc.

Jobs done / cost summary:

£350 - Purchase price (Bargain)
£125 - 6 months tax
£50 - oil and filter change
£30 - drivers door actuator replaced
£70 - Spare flip key programmed
£220 - Front lower wishbone rear bushes replaced
£0 - maf sensor checked ok
£xx - xpower 135 remap
£6 - Steering wheel cover
£6 - Fake wood gear knob
£32 - 2 x flip keys (bobbybrown)
£969 - Total spend so far

To do:

- intercooler o rings
- Fix drivers door key drive mech
- Handbrake compensator mod.
- EGR Bypass
- Thermostat Mod (including housing) - temp. sits at 78-79 degrees... need 88-90
- 4x new tyres
- Rear wheel bearings - possibly
- Stainless exhaust including decat.
- Sort out Rusty door window surrounds
- Replace / repaint bonnet and both bumpers.

Then it will be a really nice car...

Not a bad little list of things to be getting on with. Rome wasn't built in a day

Yup. There is a local garage that provides a good service at our office. They will take the car, check it and bring it back for £25. They are taking it Friday and I've asked them to check brake pipes, wheelbearings etc. I hope to get most of the work done, after 20 years of doing all my own car maintenance. Things like oil changes, thermostat mod, egr bypass I can do myself but crawling around on the floor is no longer happening if possible.

I'm really enjoying my 75. Its a great car to own.

Getting the rear wheel bearings changed today.

So nice to 'have it fixed', after spending the last 20 years crawling around under cars.

I think it will be a nice quiet drive without the bearing droning away

How come the spend so far is going down

Good stuff. Mine has a quiet drone, still not convinced it isn't a tyre though!

The original spend list included road fund license - took that off as it doesnt really count.

My drone is quite bad and is the bearing (noisy with the wheel off the ground) and will be fixed shortly still need 4 new tyres though £££

Next month exhaust, EGR bypass (in the post) and aircon re gas + full valet... more £££ but she's worth it

Might have paid too much but another £290 for the wheel bearing today... ** edit, garage found a much cheaper source for the hub and only charged £150, so I got a pair of front tyres with the difference**

Pic of Krackered wheel bearing:

Could have done it myself, but several hours outside are worth it, time is precious for me...

Got some goodies in the post today!!!

EGR bypass and new style wiper blades!!!

Need to tone down the spending! The kids wont have any dinner on the table
