Removing Harmony Radio
Hi all.
I'm in the process of updating...... ....... the 19 year old radio cassette unit in my 2001 diesel tourer. This is for a Harmony unit. Other types may well be slightly (or substantially) different. For those that haven't already changed their radio or newbies that might want to know here's how she came out: Pop out the cover under the top fascia molding. Then the two No2 pozi headed screws tucked up underneath And pull it gently towards the back of the car. I now took off the covers for the switches (if you have them - I haven't) and heater controls. Probably not strictly necessary but I find it makes life easier. Now two more No2 pozi screws that actually hold the radio in: If you have a small magnet it helps to stop the screws dropping down into spaces where fingers can't go Passenger side: Driver's side On mine it was then lifting the unit up a bit and easing her out. And voila The electrical connecting block has to be unclipped - it's not just a push fit. Usefully there's a little picture on the connector showing you what to do. Pull off the ariel lead and you're ready to put the new one in. Hope that helps. Andy. Last edited by AndyN01; 20th January 2020 at 16:10.. |

I'm looking at a CD player on ebay to upgrade from my harmony radio /cassette (2001 club tourer) Would it be a straight forward change over using the existing connector or will there be difficulties ?

Welcome to the 2001 Club Tourer fan club .
It's likely you'll need an adapter lead to connect from the Rover loom to the "new" unit. PM on it's way. Andy. |
