Default Advice for a Newbie

Was hoping for some advice...
I may be a little over excited at this point, I get my 2002 Tourer next week and I have already started ordering parts for what I already know needs to be replaced.
First items were new floor mats from Rimmerbros and I had hoped to get a new gear knob as well. But I took too long ordering and now the gear knob is gone, at the same time there was a new one on ebay and now it is gone as well...I am tempted to get one of the green ones from Rimmerbros and dye it black. But as I just started looking for parts I am not sure...if those will be the last new or like new gear knobs to ever come up for sale, or if I should just settle down and wait and more will come up for sale again.

Thanks James

Thanks Keith, I was looking to match the original one that was in the car...just wasn't sure about how common it is for parts to come up for sale? I looked through all the Vendors listed on the site and it looks that RimmerBros was the about the only one selling left over new parts and as I would expect after all these years they do seem to be running out of stock unless i missed something.

Thanks for the offer Keith, unfortunately it is a manual....I will take your advice and make a post in the classified section before going for the green one ... in general though, not just in regards to gear knobs, do you see a good flow of parts coming up for sale or does one need to be really quick on the draw? Thanks again, James

I've got one in very good condition, its not new, but its one I've used and I'm fussy.

You can have it if you cover postage to Prague.

Link to a photo of the one you were after so we know we're talking about the same gear knob.

Wow, that is really nice of you Slim. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-UKJ100570LNF this is what I tried to order and it got cancelled. Do you know what the difference between black and ash grey is? In the picture it looked black to me like the one that is in the car....but when looking around on the net for a picture I saw they actually have light grey ones as well which would not look right at all. (The car has the Stand stone leather with ash grey trim...looks black to me) I sent an email to Kar-Solutions, they had one up on E-bay and it looks it may have just timed out and not actually sold....If that doesn't work out and you are still willing I would love to take you up on your offer...thank you James....if my wife ever finds my CC bills for my project car she is going to kill me

No problem, that one is slightly different to the spare one I have anyway.

If you don't have any luck with them send me a pm and I'll get a photo of the one I can let you have.

That one is a rover made upgrade, it isn't the one that would have come with your car - typically they sell on eBay for around £39.99 new.
