Default Steering

Hi all,
this being my first ZT (ZT-T Cdti), I am not sure if the power steering pump is goosed or not. If I am trying to park, there is no way I can use one hand to turn the steering wheel when moving slowly - is this normal on the ZT's? The PAS pump has a sort of clicking noise too? Tyres are 225, 45, 18 and are at 31 psi.
Fluid level is fine and a nice pinky colour. Your advice would be appreciated as usual.

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.

Can anyone help this Guy with a steering problem?
Ken.

Sounds like a power steering problem, but you'll have to diagnose it. first thing check the PAS fluid level. If that's ok then you'll need to determine if it's the drive belt slipping, pump, pressure regulator, or steering rack causing the problem. If I was a gambling man I'd bet on the belt followed by the regulator : but it could be any or several at at fault. How heavy is the steering when moving? (A subjective judgement I know).
