Try a mild clay on the car......test a small area first and use plenty of lube.

I understand you suggesting a mild clay but to be honest 48ROV06 should not have to do it himself, should return the car and tell them to clean it up Or get a valetor to do it and send B*W Styner the bill

IT was repaired through SYTNER DRIVE they supplied hire car and claim of 3rd party . Yes I did ask what to use .Do not feel they would do properly. The state they tried to give me back the car the first time parked it up to fence so i could not see bad fitting tailgate hitting body bumper hanging down one side and sprayed wrong colour told me it was ready at 4.0pm and they were closing at 5.0 working 40 min away.I was going to clean part of windscreen looks like its been sand blasted in bright sun.Do part of roof to show theme what I want then send letter giving them 7 days to rectify . regards ALAN

the car needs mopping with g3 compound .. any overspray on glass will come off with a blade , or wipe over with thinners . plastics are a swine to clean as thinners a no , no , and black plastic dont polish with compound. you can also remove overspray off paint work with thinners , " AS LONG AS PAINTWORK IS 2K, AND NOT BEEN SMART REPAIRED IN 1K CLEARCOAT, IT WILL WIPE OFF " CAR NEEDS A FULL POLISH TAKE IT BACK, ITS THERE MESS THEY SHOULD SORT IT.... As for the colour problem, well they could of sorted it there , the ici rep would of come out and reformulated the colour and tinted it to match " it dont take 3 weeks ..... a very poor pack of lies .... i know the score been a painter the last 23 years

they should of done spray out cards ..... this would show which was the best shade to your car , as some colours can have upto 12 different shades and can be a nightmare but can always be sorted .... its a very poor show but this is how more and more big dealers are now days ... stick to your small family run bodyshops and you will be treated right and get a good job... i worked in dealers bodyshops and would never work for a dealer again , i saw what went on , and didnt like it ... they want quantity not quality ......

Thanks Jim .When I complained about colour first of all it was Rover fault not a modern paint . I said it is not even in the same shades was more the blue grey BMW use.Car stood for a week then they took fuel cover of car said they had sent it off to ICI for matching .ICI was going to mix a formula then send them paint to try if it was ok they were going to order paint . I asked has your paint mixer broken down reply special paint utter ****. Will warn everyone not to use . ALAN
