What awfully sad news.
My heart goes out to Lillian and the family.
Please accept my sincerest condolences.

He was a lovely man, a true ambassador for not only this club but for the marque.

RIP Derek, God Bless

It is with deepest sadness Jan & I send our sincere condolences & deep sense of loss at the passing of our dear & loving Friend Derek.

Our heartfelt & sincere thoughts are with Lilian & the Family at this very sad time.

Jan & I have Known Derek & Lilian from the very inception of the Owners Club, joining on the same day as Derek,we have over the years come to regard them more as Family members as much as very dear & loving Friends.

Derek was a very highly respected, stalwart founder member of the Owners Club, the like of which we are all going to feel the poorer without his input, dedication & enthusiasm that Derek showed towards us all.

A true Gentleman in every sense of the word,a Father figure to us all in the Owners Club & a very highly respected Family Man,Who's loss cannot be measured.

Jan & I feel deeply proud & Honoured to have known & had Derek & Lilian in our lives for the years we did & with respect to Derek will continue with Lilian.

God Bless Dear Friend we will miss you so much.

John & Jan.

Dedicated to Derek [WINDRUSH]

It is with deep sorrow I am reading this thread.
I have never met Derek personally but we did exchange PM's when I asked him if he knew my Aunt Marion from Ash, her late husband was the same age and was also in the RAF.
May I pass on my deepest sympathy to Lillian and the family. Derek will always be in my thoughts and I'm sure will be vy everyone here. His passing is a sad and great loss to the club but he will always be remembered due to the wonderful tribute seen every time you log in.
RIP Derek and God bless to you all.

RIP Derek, it has been a pleasure to have known you.

A true Gentleman of the highest order and a great ambassador to this club, your warmth and friendship to all was felt by all in this club and you will be sorely missed.

Free from pain now, Godspeed to you on your final journey.

Thoughts and Prayers to Lilian and all the family at this difficult time.

Can I please just pass this on from George as well to say that......
" Forever in my thoughts, a true Hero and Gentleman "

R.I.P. Derek
I can only echo sorrow and sadness that many have expressed.
My sincerest condolences to Derek's family and friends at this sad time and hope there is some small comfort that Derek is now at peace and no longer suffering.
He will be respected and honoured for a long time within the club I'm sure.

Martyn.

I'm sorry to read this news, not only on account of Derek's passing but also the impact on everyone here who clearly had such great affection and respect for him. My condolences to Lillian and all who knew him.

As a former owner I do not log on to the forum often these days and was deeply saddened to hear of Derek's passing.

The Owners Club will not be the same without his considerable presence.

My sincere condolences to all his family at this time and to all who knew him.

Derek

My turn, what a queue, but only to be expected.

Well Done Derek and thank you for what you have helped create and continued to contribute to. Derek's presence and that of Lillian helped form the style of this Club, and what a legacy to leave.

To be remembered is something, to be missed is something else, and a void left like that should be taped off to "preserve the scene". Nice one Sir!

Yes a void is left - and somehow more poignant this time of year. The anniversary of my MiL’s death was just a few days ago. Always that empty seat at the Christmas table it seems.

My thoughts will be with Derek’s family as whilst everyone else will be celebrating they will be dealing with Loss and all the administration that has to be done - difficult at the best of times - but at Christmas it’s doubly difficult.
