Due to us raising grandkids, and them still being school age, we wont be able to attend, unfortunately given our circumstances no-one else is allowed to collect them from school. Which we,re not happy about,as we would of gone to the funeral. We will send a donation to the hospice, and will mark the time of the funeral in quiet thoughts about Derek and what an amazing gentleman he was.

Hi everyone, a collection is a superb gesture, donation to the hospice, has any one thought about the expense Lilian and her family are having to face for Dereks funeral, whilst I can appreciate the splendid work and support the hospice provides my own feeling is Lilian could also do with some finance, just an opinion. Please let me know all of your thoughts. Dawn and Julien |

Good idea abou contribution towards funeral costs. My dad’s service last December, although a simple basic service at the crem, by his own request, still cost over £5000. Luckily he had put some money aside, towards it, and what he had left in his account, paid for the rest.

Instead of a best car in show, could the windrush award be given for the person doing most to make new members welcome and, as he was.... being a gentleman in all correspondence??

Derek’s funeral who is going?
So now we have the date and time, who is going?
I will go if other members from the area are going, but its a long way for me to travel solo, in my van ,as. I cant take the car, as the wife needs it for work.
