I'm curious. What are the 'bonnet mod.', 'sponge mod' and 'pipework / hose* mod'?

* I'm aware of the inter-cooler seal issue if that is what it refers to.

Bonnet mod = Reversal of bonnet 2-way release mechanism to avoid it coming apart and peventing the bonnet opening.

Sponge mod = Sponge pieces judiciously secured to ensure plenum drains remain clear of leaves etc.

Pipework / hose mods = Judicious use of sticky backed leading to protect air con pipework where it rubs against other things. Hoses kept free from rubbing against other objects by plastic tie-straps.

Intercooler seals - got me there...not done it, but being a very late facelift, not sure it needs it doing? Either way, I would check it if / when the resistor needs replacing.

Thanks. I realise that I am aware of the bonnet cable mod. and the pipework stuff. Not aware of the sponge mod.. I'll look it up after Easter.

Inter-cooler hose seals can fail. Replace them with Vitreon (sp?) seals (Contact Jules).

Cheers,
Kearton

I am looking at two or three different V8s now.....just depends on selling R75. She has only done 800 miles in the last 6 months...so that sort of annual mileage would be just right for V8 ownership

Oh, I dunno...she might well not sell.....in which case I will console myself by sticking on a set of 18" wheels, some harder springs and get myself a 'V8 soundtrack' CD...so you might yet get a ride...

Thanks for the offer of help though...I may take you up on that.
