Default Raiding the archives...

Being stuck at home and not being able to get out with the camera, I've been raiding my archives...

Having lost my old pal Oscar unexpectedly at the end of last month, I've been working on old photos of him, mixed in with coastal sunsets.

Nash Point sunset, Wales.. by Philip Davies, on Flickr
Sunset at Ogmore by Sea, Wales... by Philip Davies, on Flickr

Oscar and Bertie.... by Philip Davies, on Flickr
Oscar, My superstar. by Philip Davies, on Flickr
Sunrise at Ogmore Castle (Castell Ogwr) Wales... by Philip Davies, on Flickr

The third photo, I really don't like it. I uploaded it to Flickr anyway and somehow (a first for me in all the time I've been on Flickr) it made it to "Flickr Explore"
It has ended up by far the most popular photo on my account..

Hi Phil, what beautiful and heartwarming photos, thank you for sharing. Out of interest when setting the colour profile in camera, do you have a preference, sRGB or Adobe RGB?

Hi Phil,

Sorry, I've only just seen your post.

Thank you, it's been a real comfort to go through his photos.

I believe it's set to sRGB in camera.
Why do you ask?

A few more recent images, taken over the last few weeks.
With this lockdown, I really thank myself lucky that I live on the coast.

These were all taken, either at sunset, or sunrise...

My apologies Phil for my late reply. I asked as the colours in your photos look natural. I found AdobeRGB too rich and unnatural looking, so I set the camera to sRGB.

Like yourself, I have been revisiting old photos and there are plenty to choose from.

I enjoy looking at your photos, you are indeed very fortunate living at the coast. We are 8 - 9 hours drive from the Indian Ocean and usually have to stop for one night half way along the route, not that I am complaining as it is an adventure driving to the coast.

Thank you, Phil. I really appreciate that.
I normally sit back from my photos and think they look terrible. I then spend hours umming and erring about whether or not to share them!

I can only imagine what it's like to do that kind of roadtrip where you are. The stuff of dreams, I imagine!
I always enjoy your photos too, so keep them coming!
