Auto to manual conversion
Here's one for you!!
Please without going into the whole why bother, just sell it and buy a manual etc etc what exactly would I need to convert my auto to a manual? I've grown quite fond to my tourer over the last 3 years and although it's next to worthless it's one of only a couple of chatsworth tourers kicking about, not to mention I'm sure there's something amiss with the torque converter or gearbox, with what I've got planned a slush box is out of the question. Besides a donor car (which would probably make things easier) I recon I'd need Pedal box Master cylinder Slave cylinder Associated pipework Gear lever and mechs Cables Gearbox Flywheel Friction and pressure plate Drive shafts Ecu or zcs coding Is there anything I'm missing?? And would it be possible from a t4 point of view?

Having a donor car which can be parked alongside whilst the swap is carried out, would make this 100 times easier
I'll admit it's not something I've ever done, but having a donor means you'll have all the little clips, brackets, wiring (assuming same spec car is purchased) which will save you days of searching in breakers yards. And if Brian can sort the electronics, it should be a doddle...

Thanks Brian, I'd hoped it would be straightforward in the electrical department. It'll probably end up being this time next year now, but I'll have plenty of time to sort everything out.
Are the gearboxes the same for the 1.8t and the v6?? If so I'm already part way there...

A KV6 2.5 is 3.944 to 1, so near enough for pit work, and all of the petrol gear ratios are the same, only differing in final drive ratio, and two litre KV6 and 1800 NASP boxes are identical You will need driveshafts though, as the automatic ones are a different length Brian |

Thanks again Brian. It's from a 75 so it'll be near enough for me! I know where there's some driveshafts so that's two items off my list.
Wish I'd made this decision 6 months ago when I had a scrapper...
