Default water damage = no sound

Hello, can anybody help me with a stereo problem. I had a blockage in my drainage pipes under the front windscreen and had a load of water get into the car under the dash. There was a buzzing and a clicking and my stereo cut out. Now it all turns on and does what it should however there is no sound. There is also no sound on the sat nav section.I have tried the speakers and they work also I purchased a replacement sat nav/stereo unit and there is still no sound. Please, any help would be gratefully received.
All the best, Alan

Can I ask how you have tested the speakers please ?

Sounds like you need to fully inspect the speaker wires going from unit to speaker

I presume you mean the cassette and satnav combined and the cd changer in a separate unit?
If so you have the Highline system,
I would be also checking your wheel well in the boot for signs of water as the other parts to your radio system are in with the spare wheel.

Default deafly quiet

Hi, I have asked about this before but have an update.Due to the dreaded rain coming in from the blocked drain points in the skuttle I have lost all sound to my stereo and the sat nav.
The sound just ent one day after crackling and popping noises on a very rainy day.I purchased a working stereo /sat nav unit and fitted it.No luck. Then I was advised to try the speakers, these worked with a separate unit .Then I tried the head unit with different speakers and it didn't work.I know the replacement head unit works as I saw it working before it was removed.
My car is a lovely MG ZT 180 sport saloon 2.5 v6 automatic.
I am desperate to get this sorted out, my local auto electricals say it will be £75 minimum, more for something other than just road noise as I am drived.
I thank you in advance
Best regards, Alan

Default water damage

Hi, I had water come in through the dash due to blocked drain plugs in the skuttle.First there was a crackling and a popping noise then I lost all sound on the stereo and sat nav, and the trip computer display where the dials are started to have bits missing.I bought a fully working replacement stereo sat nav unit and still no sound.Tried different speakers with no luck. Are the three things connected?
I have a 2005 MG ZT 2.5 180se sport saloon.
Please can anybody help as I need the stereo to drown out the road noise and the sat nav is used alot.
Thank you in advance.Best regards, Alan

the satnav will be in the boot.......if that has failed you may have a leak in the boot area too.
