Adding electric seat wiring
Having thoroughly checked my 75, it doesn't have the wiring for electric seats, alas. Now, I'm considering going for electric seats, but wondered how easy it is to make the wiring up, and if anyone has a how-to.
The other option is, if I were to buy a cheap Connoisseur SE, how much of it would I need for the seats to work properly?

Done it twice
Quote:
I have now done it twice. Not too hard if you follow the how too. Make sure you get the connectors that plug into the seats from a scrap car and the wiring with connectors from behind the heated seat switches. You need say 6 to 8 inches of wiring attached. If you get that it is not too hard to be truthful. Takes about a day including taking out and putting back in. If you are in doubt...it really is worth the effort the leather heated memory seats really set the cars off. Go for it! PS Remember that the heated elements are switched negatives, positive connected all the time. Worth up rating the thermostats in the seats before fitting. Chris. |
